Some wedding days seem to gather momentum from the moment you arrive, and Ellie and Jamie’s was exactly like that. There was this brilliant buzz throughout the morning that never really disappeared. Every room was full of excitement, guests were arriving with huge smiles, and you could tell straight away it was going to be a celebration people would remember for a long time.
Being a Rushton Hall wedding photographer means I get to capture days like this in one of Northamptonshire’s most beautiful wedding venues. Every wedding here feels completely different because every couple brings their own personalities, traditions and stories, and that’s exactly what I love about photographing weddings at Rushton Hall. My focus is always on documenting the people and the moments first, using the venue to help tell the story rather than letting it become the story itself.
Modern Style With Timeless Elegance
Ellie looked absolutely stunning in a sleek, minimalist wedding dress that proved you don’t need lots of embellishment to make an impact. It was elegant, modern and suited the whole feel of the day perfectly.
Jamie and his groomsmen wore classic black tuxedos, creating a sophisticated black-tie look that worked beautifully against the character of Rushton Hall. I loved the contrast between the clean, contemporary styling and the history of the building. It created portraits that felt timeless rather than following a particular trend.
I always encourage couples to relax during portraits rather than worrying about where to put their hands or constantly looking at the camera. Most of the time we’re simply chatting, walking or taking a minute together while I quietly photograph what unfolds. Those in between moments nearly always become favourites. Couples choose their wedding venue for a reason. It might be because of its history, a special memory it holds, or simply because they fell in love with the way it looks. A Jewish Ceremony Filled With Emotion
The ceremony was one of those parts of the day where everything else seemed to disappear for a while.
Jewish weddings always carry so much meaning, and Ellie and Jamie’s ceremony was full of heartfelt tradition alongside moments that felt completely personal to them. Beneath a beautiful chuppah, surrounded by family and friends, they exchanged their vows in an atmosphere filled with love and anticipation.
The natural light pouring into the ceremony space created the softest backdrop, allowing me to document everything exactly as it happened. There were smiles that couldn’t be hidden, emotional glances between family members and those tiny reactions that often pass by unnoticed if you aren’t looking for them. Those are the photographs my couples are drawn to. Not the staged moments, but the genuine ones that happen naturally throughout the day.
The Kind Of Dance Floor Every Photographer Loves
If there was one word to describe the evening, it would probably be vibe. The speeches had everyone laughing one minute and reaching for tissues the next, before the celebrations really got underway.
And then came the dancing. From the traditional hora to guests cheering from every corner of the room, it was one of those evenings where the dance floor was never empty. Chairs were lifted high into the air, everyone joined in, and there was so much movement and laughter that it was impossible not to smile while photographing it.
As a Rushton Hall wedding photographer, these are some of my favourite moments to capture because they’re completely unfiltered. Nobody is thinking about the camera anymore. The dancefloor is spacious enough to cater for a whole wedding party, which makes celebrating with the people you love most easy, and that’s when the best photographs happen.
