KENT WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

ARE YOU LOOKING FOR A WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER IN KENT?

Well then you've come to the right place.

Hi, I'm Charlene, a Kent wedding photographer based in Maidstone. Choosing your wedding photographer is about so much more than finding someone who can take beautiful photographs. You're trusting someone to capture one of the most meaningful days of your life, so it's important that your images feel like you, not a collection of awkward smiles or overly staged moments.

My approach to Kent wedding photography is relaxed, refined and finished with a subtle editorial flair. I'll guide you throughout the day so you never have to wonder what to do, but you'll never spend hours standing in stiff, awkward poses. Instead, I use gentle direction and thoughtful prompts that help you relax, connect with each other and forget about the camera. It's what I like to call natural posing; photographs that feel effortless, look elegant and never feel forced. Alongside those guided moments, I'll quietly document everything else as it unfolds, capturing the atmosphere, emotion and all of the beautiful in-between moments that make your wedding day uniquely yours.

I want your photographs to feel classic and timeless with a subtle editorial edge. Elegant, effortless and deeply personal. Every wedding has its own atmosphere and every couple their own story, so I never approach a day with a formula. Instead, I create a gallery that reflects how your wedding truly felt, balancing thoughtfully composed portraits with the moments you never saw coming.

MY WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY STYLE

My style is rooted in observation. I’m constantly looking for beautiful light, clean compositions and the small interactions that often go unnoticed, anticipating moments before they happen rather than interrupting them. When it’s time for portraits, I’ll offer just enough direction to help you feel comfortable while keeping everything relaxed and natural. It’s this balance of documentary coverage and editorial composition that gives my work its distinctive look.

Why Choose Me As Your Kent Wedding Photographer

If you’re looking for a wedding photographer in Kent who genuinely loves love stories, then you’re in the right place. I’ve always been a bit of a romantic at heart. Give me a good romance novel, a feel good love story or a film that makes me cry (yes, I’m that person!) and I’m happy. I think that’s probably why I love weddings so much, there’s something pretty special about being surrounded by so much happiness, excitement and emotion.

Being a wedding photographer based in Maidstone means I get to photograph celebrations across some of the most beautiful venues in the county, and I love discovering what makes each one different. Whether it’s chasing golden light in the gardens, shedding a tear during speeches, or maybe being reminded of that embarrassing moment on your hen or stag do. I’m always looking for those natural reactions to create little pieces of magic.

My Favourite Kent Wedding Venues

Over the years I’ve photographed weddings across Kent at a variety of beautiful venues. These are a few of my favourite Kent wedding venues because they each offer something unique when it comes to creating natural, relaxed wedding photographs.

MARLEYBROOK HOUSE

Marleybrook House is one of my favourite venues to photograph because it’s so full of personality. I’m a bit of an adrenaline junkie, so the vintage fairground rides are a huge bonus! If you’re lucky, I may even follow you onto the rides to capture some fun action shots. It’s a venue that allows couples to relax, have fun and create photographs that feel completely unique, with gardens and interesting backdrops around every corner.

CHAPEL HOUSE ESTATE

Chapel House Estate is a dream for a Kent wedding photographer. It has such a calm, elegant feel to it. From the helicopter pad to the meadows, this venue has just about everything to photograph. Everything has been designed with so much attention to detail. It's the kind of venue where every part of the day runs smoothly and also boasts guest accommodation. What more could you want?

THE ORANGERY

The Orangery in Maidstone is one of my favourite venues, not just because it's only a few minutes from where I live, but because it photographs so beautifully. The gardens are perfect for relaxed couple portraits, there's gorgeous natural light throughout the venue, and everything feels bright, timeless and romantic. It's a venue I always look forward to.

KENT WEDDING PORTFOLIO

'As a wedding planner- choosing the right photographer for my own wedding was so important. I found Charlene on Instagram and instantly fell in love with her work! She was so calm, creative, and made sure she captured everything that we discussed! I am beyond thrilled with the gallery that she sent- I can't stop looking at all of the photos. She is insanely talented!'

Planning Your Kent Wedding Photography

Planning your wedding photography is about more than just choosing a photographer; it’s about creating space in your day for the moments that will become your favourite memories. One of the biggest tips I give my Kent couples is to avoid making your timeline too rushed. Allowing a little extra time means you can actually enjoy your day, take a breath, and spend time with the people who have travelled to celebrate with you. It also gives us the opportunity to capture those beautiful natural moments without feeling like we’re racing from one thing to the next.

I've had the pleasure of photographing some incredible venues, from the popular Leeds Castle to The Gardens in Yalding, and Old Kent Barn, each one offers something different for photographs. I always recommend making the most of your surroundings, whether that’s a quiet walk through the grounds, a few minutes together during golden hour, or using the beautiful spaces your venue has to offer. Most importantly, don’t worry about being “good” in front of the camera. A lot of couples tell me they feel awkward having their photograph taken, but my job is to make the experience relaxed and natural. The best images come when you forget about the camera and focus on each other.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Are you recommended at any wedding venues in Kent?

Yes, I’m lucky enough to be recommended by some beautiful venues across Kent, including the gorgeous Chilston Park. I love building relationships with venues, but I also believe that great wedding photography comes from understanding each couple and their story, not just knowing the venue.

Q. What do your full day wedding photography packages start from?

My full day wedding photography collections start from £2,500. Each celebration is completely unique, so I offer collections designed around what matters most to you, whether that’s full day coverage, extra hours or beautiful albums to preserve your memories.

Q. Is travel included to Kent wedding venues?

Yes, travel to wedding venues across Kent is included. Being based in Kent means I regularly photograph events throughout the county, from beautiful country estates to barns, gardens and coastal venues.

Q. Does it matter if you haven’t photographed a wedding at our venue before?

Not at all. In fact, sometimes it can be a lovely thing because I’m not arriving with a set list of the same images I’ve created there before. I love exploring new venues, finding the best light and discovering unique spots that make your photographs feel personal to your wedding day.

Q. How far in advance should we book our Kent wedding photographer?

Most couples secure their bookings around 12–18 months before their big day, especially for popular summer Saturdays. However, I do occasionally have availability for shorter notice weddings, so it’s always worth getting in touch.

Q. Do you photograph weddings outside of Kent?

Yes! Although I am a Kent based wedding photographer, I regularly capture weddings across London, Surrey, Sussex, and the wider UK. Wherever your love story takes you, I’d love to travel to document it.

Q. What happens if it rains on our wedding day?

Don’t worry, rain won’t stop us creating beautiful photographs. I’ll always work with the weather rather than against it, finding the best light and making the most of your venue’s indoor spaces. Some of my favourite images have been created on rainy days, as it can add a really romantic and atmospheric feel to your wedding gallery.
