Elvetham hotel wedding styled shoot with bride and groom kissing

Every now and again I take part in styled wedding editorials between real weddings, as it gives me a chance to explore new ideas and creative direction. This Elvetham Hotel wedding styled shoot was a perfect example of that and really didn’t disappoint.

There’s something quite special about a styled wedding shoot when it comes together properly. It creates a full wedding atmosphere for any Elvetham wedding photographer, combining romance, candlelight, and carefully considered wedding design in a way that feels immersive rather than staged. This editorial took place in The Bell Tower, a small chapel set within the grounds of Elvetham Hotel, and it worked beautifully as a wedding ceremony setting. The space itself brings a strong sense of history, which paired really well with the modern styling details used throughout the shoot.

As an Elvetham Hotel wedding photographer, it’s always a joy to photograph weddings and editorials at this gorgeous venue. The Elvetham Hotel is one of Hampshire’s most impressive wedding venues, offering a mix of grand architecture, landscaped grounds, and unique indoor ceremony spaces like The Bell Tower. Capturing this styled wedding editorial allowed me to document both the venue itself and the wedding inspiration created by the styling team, from ceremony details through to the overall atmosphere.

Romantic Details and Draping In The Bell Tower

One of the standout elements of this editorial was the use of draping and candlelight to elevate the space. Layers of soft, flowing fabric framed the tables and ceremony area, creating a sense of movement and grace. The draping softened the architectural lines of The Bell Tower and made every photograph feel like a moment pulled from a fairytale. As a wedding photographer there's nothing I love most then the addition of countless candles which brought warmth and intimacy, highlighting how thoughtful lighting can transform a venue into a dream setting.

Florals that Enhanced the Photos Of Elvetham Hotel Wedding Photographer

Forest and The Flowers worked their magic with lush floral arrangements that complimented the romantic theme. Soft blooms and greenery appeared throughout, from the tabletop designs to accent pieces that mirrored the overall tone of elegance. The florals added texture and life, perfectly marrying the architectural beauty of Elvetham Hotel with organic design.

The Dress and Bridal Style

The bridal gown from Edmondson Bridal Couture was nothing short of stunning. With delicate detailing and a silhouette that felt both timeless and fashion forward, it set the tone for the entire editorial. The dress flowed effortlessly, whether draped against the grand stone or surrounded by glowing candles in a romantic corner of The Bell Tower. Bridal accessories from White Designs Bridal completed the look with refined elegance, enhancing rather than overpowering the gown. Hair and makeup by Olivia Marshall Makeup added soft, ethereal beauty that perfectly suited the romantic setting.

Tablescape and Stationery Details

The table design featured exquisite tableware and furniture from Black Saucers Tableware, which paired beautifully with the overall aesthetic. Every place setting felt carefully curated, adding a refined yet inviting feel. Lou Paper’s stationery added a personal and elegant touch, balancing classic design with modern simplicity.

Sweet Finishing Touches

No wedding inspiration shoot would be complete without something sweet. The cake from Lulus Cake Kitchen was a visual and delicious highlight, mirroring the romantic tone of the editorial. Its delicate detailing and understated elegance fit seamlessly into the aesthetic of the day.

Final Thoughts From An Elvetham Wedding Photographer

This Bell Tower at Elvetham Hotel styled wedding editorial really showed how much impact thoughtful details, warm lighting, and considered design can have on a space. It struck a strong balance between the historic character of the venue and a more modern, refined styling approach. From the wedding dress and floral design through to the soft candlelight throughout the ceremony space, everything came together in a way that felt cohesive and intentional.

What stood out most to me while photographing this was how The Bell Tower changes depending on how it’s dressed. This makes it the perfect setting for a ceremony or wedding breakfast. The natural light that flows through the chapel during the day creates a unique space for any couples wedding photography. I absolutely loved capturing the portraits in the morning when the sunlight coming through was at its strongest. During the afternoon the light suddenly changed making it more layered and softer for the bride and groom portraits with the wedding table. The stone walls hold the light in a really gentle way, so even small changes in styling make a noticeable difference in how the whole room feels. I found myself slowing down a lot during this shoot, just to work with the shadows and let the light fall naturally rather than forcing anything.

As an Elvetham Hotel wedding photographer, I’ve always liked how varied this venue is. You can move from the grandeur of the main house and gardens into a space like The Bell Tower, and it feels like a completely different world. That contrast is what makes it so interesting to shoot. There’s a real sense of history in the building, but it doesn’t feel untouchable or overly formal. It still allows for creative, modern styling to sit comfortably within it.

This particular wedding shoot also felt very balanced in terms of styling choices. The gown had a clean, silhouette that blended seemlessly with the draping and didn’t compete with the surroundings. The florals were structured, but not overly dense, which meant the architecture of the chapel still played a strong role in the imagery. I personally prefer that approach in a space like this, where the venue and styling support each other rather than one overpowering the other.

The candlelight was probably my favourite element throughout. It added a softness that you can’t really replicate with anything else, giving it that dramatic style. It gave the whole editorial a slower, more intimate feel, even though it was a styled setup rather than a real wedding day.

Overall, this wedding editorial felt like a really good reminder of why this venue works so well for wedding photography. It has enough structure and history to ground the images, but also enough flexibility in its spaces to allow for different styles and moods. As a photographer, that balance is exactly what makes a venue enjoyable to return to again and again.
