Every once in a while, a wedding comes along that genuinely stays with you long after you’ve delivered the gallery. Abby and Phil’s Brympton House wedding was one of those days. Romantic, emotional, stylish and full of so much happiness that it was impossible not to get caught up in it.

Abby is a wedding planner based in Florida, so naturally every detail had been thought through beautifully. Nothing felt overdone though. Everything had purpose, from the flowers to the colours, and it all reflected them perfectly. But for me, what made this wedding unforgettable wasn’t simply how stunning everything looked. It was the atmosphere. You could feel just how much this day meant.

Travelling from the United States to celebrate in the English countryside, Abby and Phil gathered the people they love most in one place. There was such a lovely mix of excitement, emotion and laughter throughout the day. Those are always the weddings I enjoy photographing most because people are completely invested in every moment. Honest Moments That Tell The Story

One of my favourite things about Abby and Phil’s wedding was how present everyone was. There was this contagious energy from the moment I arrived. People weren’t worrying about timelines or posing for photographs all day. They were simply enjoying themselves, which always creates the most meaningful images. Phil and his groomsmen chose green suits, which looked incredible against the warm stone buildings and surrounding gardens. It was such a refreshing choice and complemented the natural colours of Brympton House perfectly.

Abby wore the most beautiful off the shoulder ballgown with delicate detailing that caught the light as she moved. Seeing her walk through the venue before the ceremony was one of those moments where everything seemed to stop for a second. You could actually hear people taking a breath as she appeared.

Those are the moments I love photographing most. They’re impossible to recreate because they’re completely genuine. The excitement, the nerves, proud parents trying not to cry and guests smiling at one another before the ceremony even begins. Those little interactions often become some of my favourite photographs from the entire day.

Photographing Weddings At Brympton House

Brympton House is one of my favourite venues as it seems to have something beautiful around every corner which makes photographing weddings so easy. Set within a private country estate in Somerset, it has a relaxed elegance that’s difficult to describe until you’re actually there. It’s luxurious without ever feeling too grand, and I think that’s part of what makes it photograph so well. From a photography perspective, there’s so much variety throughout the day without ever needing to leave the grounds. The historic architecture, beautiful gardens, old stone walls and flowered pathways all create completely different backdrops while still feeling connected. It means couples receive a gallery with plenty of variety while everything still feels cohesive.

One thing I particularly love is how the light moves around the estate. It almost moves with it. Depending on the time of day, completely different areas come alive. It’s something I always keep in mind when planning portraits because the venue offers so many opportunities if you know where to look. As a luxury country estate, Brympton House also allows the day to flow naturally. Nothing feels rushed from one location to another, which makes a huge difference when capturing genuine moments rather than constantly organising people.

Why Brympton House Is Perfect For Wedding Photography

One thing I always notice as a Brympton House wedding photographer is how effortlessly the venue lends itself to luxury photography. Couples never have to spend hours away from their guests because beautiful locations are always just a short walk away. We wandered through the gardens for portraits without ever feeling like we’d disappeared from the celebrations. Nothing was rushed and nothing felt staged. It was simply about giving Abby and Phil a little breathing space together before heading back to celebrate with everyone. The speeches brought plenty of tears, quickly followed by huge bursts of laughter. It was one of those rooms where every single person was completely invested in every word being said. Those emotional moments are often some of the most treasured photographs because they capture relationships just as much as they capture the wedding itself. Then came the evening celebrations, and the dance floor barely had a chance to recover. It was full from the first dance onwards, with guests making the most of every minute together. Those kinds of evenings are always brilliant to photograph because people completely forget the camera is there.

Looking back through Abby and Phil’s gallery still makes me smile. It wasn’t just the beautiful styling, incredible fashion choices or breathtaking setting that made this wedding special. It was the people and the genuine love that surrounded them throughout the day.
