Brympton House Wedding Filled With Love
As a wedding photographer, Brympton House has always been on my bucket list for capturing a wedding, so when I was contacted by Abby I was so excited to be part of her dream wedding. Abby and Phil’s wedding day was romantic, stylish and full of happiness, it was impossible not to get caught up in it.
Abby is a wedding planner based in Florida, so naturally every detail had been thought through beautifully. From the flowers to the wedding breakfast colours, it all reflected them perfectly and Abby's vision For me, what made this wedding unforgettable wasn’t simply how stunning everything looked, it was the atmosphere. You could feel just how much this day meant.
Travelling from the United States to celebrate in the English countryside, Abby and Phil gathered the people they love most in one place. There was such a lovely mix of excitement, emotion and laughter throughout the day. Those are always the weddings I enjoy photographing most because people are completely invested in every moment. As a Brympton House wedding photographer, these are exactly the kinds of celebrations I love documenting.
Brympton Wedding Photography: The Vibe
One of my favourite things about Abby and Phil’s wedding was how present everyone was. There was a lovely energy from the moment I arrived. People weren’t worrying about timelines or posing for photographs all day. They were simply enjoying themselves, which always makes such a difference to the photographs.
Phil and his groomsmen chose green suits, which looked incredible against the warm stone buildings and surrounding gardens. It was such a refreshing choice and complemented the natural colours of Brympton House perfectly.
Abby wore the most beautiful off-the-shoulder ballgown with delicate detailing that caught the light as she moved. Seeing her walk through the venue before the ceremony was a lovely moment. You could actually hear people taking a breath as she appeared.
Those are the moments I love photographing most. The excitement, the nerves, proud parents trying not to cry and guests smiling at one another before the ceremony even begins. Those little interactions often become some of my favourite photographs from the entire day.
Photographing Weddings At Brympton House
Brympton House is now one of my favourite venues, with its setting as a luxury country estate in Odcombe, Somerset. The light stone work suits my wedding photography style perfectly. The relaxed elegance shows through in every photo especially when the house is in the background of couple portraits.
Abby and Phil’s day moved through several different spaces across the estate, each with its own feel. Bridal preparations took place in the Honeymoon Suite, before everyone gathered at the Temple for the outdoor ceremony. The South Terrace was the setting for the drinks reception, giving guests time to enjoy the surroundings before moving inside to the Salon for the wedding breakfast.
The historic architecture, beautiful gardens, old stone walls and flowered pathways all create different backdrops which is a photographer dream.
A Brympton House Wedding I’ll Never Forget
Looking back through Abby and Phil’s gallery still makes me smile. It wasn’t just the beautiful styling, incredible fashion choices or setting that made this wedding special. It was the people and the love that surrounded them throughout the day.
As an editorial wedding photographer, I always hope to create photographs that feel timeless rather than driven by trends. Brympton House provides a beautiful backdrop, but ultimately it’s the people, the emotion and the emotional moments that really tell the story.
Abby and Phil, thank you for trusting me to capture such an important chapter of your lives. Bringing everyone together from across the Atlantic to celebrate in this beautiful corner of Somerset created a wedding I’ll remember for a very long time, and it was an absolute privilege to document every part of it.
